 PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This ICT Manual provides reference on ICT standards and procedures for SIMAD University staff, students, and all other users. It guides the establishment, protection, and use of ICT-based resources including equipment, software, infrastructure, information security, and data management.

The policy applies to all ICT-related facilities owned or leased by SIMAD University and is binding on students, staff, and management.

Goal

To provide a framework and guidelines that regulate all ICT resources of the University in support of teaching, learning, research, and innovation.

Objectives

• Monitor and control the use of all University ICT resources.
• Train users on their responsibilities in using and protecting ICT resources.
• Guide the ICT Directorate’s roles in ensuring effective ICT usage.
• Provide a reliable and secure ICT infrastructure for all services.
• Define a regulatory framework and procedures for ICT issues.
• Ensure web content is accurate and reflects official university activities.
